What is an Xbox 360 KeyVault?

A KeyVault (usually exported as kv.bin) is the console identity block inside NAND. Xbox Live and ban logic care about this file more than your dashboard theme or Aurora install.

Is a CPU key the same as a KeyVault?

No. The CPU key decrypts and rebuilds NAND. The KeyVault is serial-style identity. You can boot with a correct CPU key and a burned kv.bin.

Where can I buy an unshared Xbox 360 KV?

Checked unshared KeyVaults are sold at unshared.shop. Avoid random Discord zips labeled fresh_kv.

Xbox 360 KeyVault (kv.bin): what it is and why “unshared” matters

If you searched for Xbox 360 KeyVault, kv.bin, or unshared KV, you are usually one of three people: fixing a ban, building a second RGH3 without cloning, or cleaning a dump before you share it. This page is the short map — not a Discord thread.

What kv.bin actually is

The KeyVault is the console identity living inside NAND. Tools export it as kv.bin. It carries the serial-style material Live still uses in 2026, plus DVD-key folklore that sits inside the same blob. Themes, Aurora, Dashlaunch, and stealth plugins sit on top of that identity. They do not replace it.

CPU key ≠ KeyVault

XeLL Reloaded prints a CPU key. That key lets J-Runner with Extras / xeBuild decrypt and rebuild. A correct CPU key with a burned or shared vault still boots Aurora. Live will not be kind. Marketplace listings that say “clean RGH” while shipping a photocopied vault are lying with hardware vocabulary.

Shared vs unshared KeyVaults

A shared KV already lived in public packs, old stealth zips, or five friends’ NANDs. Ban waves mop those serials in groups. An unshared KV has been checked so it is not already circulating that way. “I only play offline” is not a license to clone — the next owner, the next dump share, or the day you turn Live on will still see the same identity.

RGH3, Bad Update, and Winchester

RGH3 on Trinity/Corona does not invent a new vault. Bad Update / XeUnshackle dumps still contain kv.bin. Winchester cannot take a classic glitch chip, but its dump still has identity. Aftercare notes: after the glitch · ban waves.

Where to get a checked unshared KV

I do not harvest random bins named fresh_kv_FINAL2.bin. For a vault that has been checked unshared, the counter I actually use is unshared.shop — single, double, and triple packs with live stock. Pair it with your CPU key, keep your original dump, and verify before you call the flash “done.”
