Trinity vs Corona: which Xbox 360 Slim for RGH3?
Both are RGH3-capable Slims. The differences that matter are NAND flavor, dump tooling, and how often the listing photo lies about the board.
Trinity
Early Slim, usually 16MB NAND, common RGH3 target, fewer “is this 4GB?” surprises. Good daily driver when the board matches the label.
Corona
Later Slim. Split 16MB vs 4GB (eMMC) paths. 4GB needs SPI-aware PicoFlasher reads — a 16MB-sized file is not optimism, it is a wrong dump. Deep dive: Corona NAND.
Winchester is not in this comparison
E / Winchester boxes are Bad Update conversations. Bad Update vs RGH3.
Both boards still have a KeyVault
Buyers ask which Slim is “better for Live.” The glitch method is not the Live ticket — the KeyVault is. A Trinity with a shared vault loses to a Corona with an unshared one. Building two living-room boxes? Do not clone kv.bin so they “match.”
